Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike
Lots of laughs at this show. It was clever, even hysterical at points as it poked fun at family relationships and the crazy things we say and do to each other, safe in the knowledge that we'll still be loved. Fiona Reid was awesome, a standout in an excellent cast. I strongly recommend this show.

Soulpepper - The Gospel According to Mark
Well, that's an hour and a half I will never
get back. While Kenneth Welsh recited the Gospel of Mark beautifully, I am not
a church goer nor inclined to spend my time in scripture. Was expecting
something a little different.

Soulpepper - Subway Stations of the Cross
An interesting series of religious spoken poems, delivered in costume,
punctuated by song. Sometimes lyrical, sometimes serious, occasionally
unintelligible, it is a good thing its not too long. Ins Choi is an excellent playwright and actor and this play was strangely compelling, but unfortunately not to our taste.

Canstage - Harper Reagan
Quite intense and a very convincing portrait
of a women in crisis, excellently portrayed by Molly Parker. A solid cast,
expertly carrying the show with a minimalist set. We thoroughly enjoyed this
play.

Mirvish - Blithe Spirit
It was such a treat to see Angela Lansbury
live. She made a lovely medium, both charming and delightfully acerbic.
Full of comedic moments, surprises and very well executed, we really
enjoyed this play.

National Geographic Live - Untamed Antartica
Once again, these guys are nuts. I can't
imagine thinking its a good idea to live at the tip of Antarctica in a tent for
several weeks and scaling a mountain that scares me silly. And in sub zero temperatures. Crazy people! But awesome photographs and video footage!

Video Games Live
We just love the amazing music made for video
games and it's awesome to have it accompanied by clips of the games. This show
also includes lots of fun interludes, like pitting video games against each
other and audience challenges. It's an annual crowd pleaser, drawing repeat
roars from the audience.

Acting Up Stage Company - The Wild Party
Quite the cornucopia of characters on stage -
from divas to queens to clowns to gigolos. Definitely had a vaudeville vibe,
tackling many thorny themes by a very talented cast. Really made you want to
join the party.

Soulpepper - The Dining Room
Excellent! I heard that phrase from a number
of people around me. Six actors played around 50 characters, which required
some pretty quick costume changes. I can't even begin to list my favourite
characters, there were just too many. And an outstanding cast. I heartily recommend this charming show!

Mirvish - Cannibal! the Musical
Pretty campy, silly and absurd. But lots of
laughs and lots of fun. Not for the young or the prudish, so we very much
enjoyed it! One week left, so book your tickets now if you need to let loose.
