National Geographic Live! - Cristina Mittermeier: Standing at the Water's Edge
I am concerned and inspired to do my part about conservation of our oceans and the culture and lands of indigenous peoples. Cristina makes such a compelling case for the risks we continue to put our planet under, while at the same time conveying the magic and beauty through her photographs.
Ryerson Image Centre - Snapshots from San Francisco
A fascinating exhibit of collaboration between photographs and subject, with accompanying text, is well worth whiling away your time. Also featured within this show is the largest exhibition of Jim Goldberg's work. The latter, in particular, provided an interesting contrast between the rich and the poor.

Nightwood Theatre - Calpurnia
Fascinating approach towards "To Kill a Mockingbird". The feelings of frustration and anger during the dinner party were palpable, offset by well timed comedic moments. Not to be missed.

TIFF - Canada’s Top 10 Film Festival
A wonderful opportunity to see the best in Canadian film and hear direct from the filmmakers. I love short firemen and attended all of the Shorts programs and was impressed by the talent of Canadian filmmakers and the wonderfulfilms they make. It is definitely worth blocking time in your calendar to fit in this Festival.

A powerful and challenging topic that is handled with finesse and some comic moments designed to ease the impact. See this show and keep the conversation going.

T.O. Fringe NSTF - Swordplay
Hilarious video game adaptation of The Princess Bride, even more campy and silly than the original. Cleverly imaginative and great physical comedy - definitely a highlight of the festival.
Sheridan Theatre - Into The Woods
Charming mash-up very well staged and performed by the students. Ingenious staging - I particularly liked the "trees".
